Chatterbox - Every Morning in Our House
CHATTERBOX
Every Morning in our House
I am glad I don’t have kids to get off
to school because I just wouldn’t have
time in the mornings. I get woken up
by the two dogs and two cats around
six. Reason being dogs need to wee
because remember after our burglary
we are even more locked into our
bedroom section and waiting means
wee on the floor. So race to open
bedroom section, race to open top
lounge door, they can wee there, race
downstairs to feed the birds on the
estate, and then back in to open the
door to the garden. Cats got to go
outside today for the first time, then
rush to kitchen to make dog food, my
old boy needs soft warm food and the
two dogs stand on top of my feet
whining while I prepare it. Then
quickly make my coffee put everything
on a tray and go cat hunting. They
think it is a game as I tear around
after them getting mud between my
toes, and theirs and then Poppet my
Yorkie joining in the chase getting
mud on her feet two. Finally catch the
older Tom the older cat and throw him
into open door, close it and then an
other run and crawl under wet bushes
and mud as Brandy sees if I can catch
her. Finally full of mud we troop
upstairs, with tray and cold dog food
and coffee and settle down. Tomorrow
I might put leads on the cats and take
them out later so that my heart does
not keep nearly stopping.
I don’t know whether to be happy or
disappointed about our Plett elections,
we voted at the school and the queue
was long, despite the weather, and we
had long chats with all our old mates.
Then popped down to the polling
station at the gym area and same
thing, lots of people. I was convinced
DA would take it hands down. I
watched the TV for the whole day and
never heard Plett mentioned once, nor
Knysna, nor George, or Mossel Bay.
Still don’t know. Have heard Plett is
hung, whatever that means, and once
again a mystery box of votes were
found hiding, like my cats, so they
have to re-count, so are we DA or
ANC. Anybody got any ideas? Have
looked on the internet, but that was
days ago, perhaps I should look again
today.
Spent a lovely day with two friends
yesterday, Beloved is away on tour,
and these friends have three/four year
old little boys. Brought back lots of
memories of when I was my friends
age, thirtyish, and a lot has changed
in how to discipline and I remember
Mummy always saying “children
should be seen but not heard”. That’s
going a bit far I guess because the
kids of today rule for sure. I loved
my day with my girlfriends, don’t get
me wrong, assisted by some
champagne. Kids of today also have
a lot more lovely toys; ours were
never so smart looking or such
smart machines that can do so
much.
Well I must now go and investigate
the mud damage in the house.
Chow for now CHATTERBOX
